Vegetarian in Saigon

31 May

Most of foreigners like Vietnamese food because of its neutral trend. Not too spicy, too salty, too much fat and lots of vegetables. If you are one of them, you probably fall in love with our vegetarian food.

Today, Saigonese not only have vegetarian food at the 1st and the 15th date of the month (accord to lunar calendar), we almost don’t separate vegetarian food and normal food apart, it’s just food and it’s really yummy.

In the past, vegetarian food restaurants normally next to pagodas, served by Buddhist nuns. And then entrepreneurs soon see the opportunity in vegetarian foods and therefore, restaurants rise up like mushrooms after rain. Most of those restaurants are in district 5, the China town of Saigon.

Come into a vegetarian restaurants, you would be surprised by the foods they serve. There are beef, pork, fish, chicken, hot pot and any kind of meats you can name. Obviously, those are just made from various kinds of powders but they are really tasty. And the price is not much cheaper than the real meat, actually, they are about the same.

Worry that you don’t have enough time? There are ready-to-eat vegetarian foods in the super-market from Taiwan, Hongkong.

And here are some of the fine restaurants that you could spend some time there.

Phật Hữu Duyên – 527, Nguyễn Trãi street, district 5.

Thanh Lương – 545A, Ba Tháng Hai street, ward 8, district 10.

Thiên Quốc chay – 421/8, Sư Vạn Hạnh street, district 10.

Thuyền Viên – 13, Nguyễn Văn Đậu street, ward 5, Phú Nhuận district.

Bon appétit!

Vegetarian foods are the best since they are low in fat and are healthier. ..
